These miso blistered green beans are umami heaven! They are lightly crunchy, slightly charred and have that perfect flavor combination of slightly sweet, a little salty and a touch sour with a little kick to them! These green beans make for a great side dish or I’ll serve mine over rice or cauliflower rice! One quick recipe tip, don’t skimp out on the herbs & only use fresh herbs which really make this dish!
- 1 & 1/2 Pounds Trimmed Green Beans
- 1/2 Cup Miso Paste
- 2 Tbsp Coconut Sugar
- 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 Tbsp Chili Oil / Red Pepper Flakes Also Work
- 2 Tbsp Dill
- 4 Tbsp Mint
- 4 Tbsp Chopped Parsley
Start by adding water to a large skillet over medium heat. Add the green beans and cover the skillet with a lid and allow the beans to steam for 5-10 minutes. Remove the lid and continue to cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. In a separate bowl, whisk together coconut sugar, miso, olive oil and chili oil.
Once the water has mostly boiled away, stir in the miso sauce with the green beans and allow to cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once fully cooked, take off heat and stir in the herbs. Serve on their own as a side or over rice and enjoy!!
