Review / Why We Bought An Infrared Sauna Part 1.

Infrared saunas are taking the wellness industry by storm. Currently you can go to spas, health clubs and Infrared boutique spas like Higher Dose in cities like NY. Most Establishments will charge anywhere from $40-$60 for about an hour session. To truly get the benefits from infrared you want to be consistent and do a session at least 3 times a week.  I am doing the sauna almost daily which would add up very quickly if I were to pay per session at a   spa or health establishment. Since I truly prioritize my health and wellness  this sauna purchase will actually save me money over time! That’s what I like to call a “twofer”Health and Wealth all in one hot box!

Health Benefits – We predominantly bought the sauna for the range of  health benefits it provides. My main focus has been on detoxing  my body from years of prescription drugs to treat my seizure disorder (maybe later I will share more on my holistic health journey). This page here goes further into depth on the benefits of using an infrared sauna and the many healing effects it can have on the body.

The Model We Purchased: Rocky Mountain Sauna, 2020 Badger Model. (Single Person) We live in a one bedroom apartment so keeping it small was necessary. I wouldn’t say it is uncomfortably small. Justin is about 6’2″ and has no complaints about the size. The most important aspect of the Rocky Mountain saunas is that they are EMF free.

Q&A

Q

How hard was it to assemble?

A

It was a two person job for sure and one person should be relatively handy and a second person just needs to stabilize the walls of the sauna during assembly.

Q

How much room does the sauna take up?

A

It is about 3.5′ deep and 3.25′ wide. We were able to fit it in our walk in closet!

Q

How hot does the sauna get?

A

Our sauna goes up to 149 degrees fahrenheit!

Q

How quickly does the sauna heat up?

A

Depends on how hot you want it, but I would say it takes about 20-25 mins to get to 149 degrees fahrenheit. I will typically turn it on first thing in the am and make my bed, start emails etc. while it’s heating up!

Q

How much does it cost to operate?

A

I am not 100% sure of this answer right now, I will have to report back when we get our electric bill. I am anticipating on it being fairly low though.

Conclusion

Thus far I am very happy with the quality of the sauna and really loved the customer service from Rocky Mountain. We spoke to a man named Tony on the phone and he answered all of our little questions and concerns on the sauna. It is hard to measure the amount of “detox” I have experienced in just a few short days. However, my skin looks super clear and glowy, I am not complaining of dry irritated winter skin so much and my body feels much more loose and flexible.
