A great cashmere sweater brings me immense joy, the heavenly yarn is soft and lightweight yet extremely cozy. The only downside to cashmere is often the price, however, a beautiful cashmere sweater collection can be made over time and good quality cashmere will last a lifetime. I am a firm believer in adding one to two pieces of cashmere to your wardrobe a year, I like to buy mine now when they are often on sale. If you are just starting your collection, stick with the basics, think a simple black crewneck, or a classic v-necks like this style! Then add in pretty colors like this pink cable knit style, and then maybe add in a stripe like this.
I often don’t blink at the price or feel guilty spending on cashmere because I still own and wear a black cable knit cashmere sweater that I was given for Christmas when I was a sophomore in high school! I am almost 29 now, talk about a good wardrobe investment! I do give up owning multiple acrylic blend sweaters from stores like mango, or a gap etc. to only own / buy 2 cashmere sweaters a season. So if the cost is something that is hard for you look past, know that cashmere sweaters are to be thought of as an investment versus a quick fashion fix!
Take care of your sweaters! I like to layer lightweight tank tops like this underneath. By layering my cashmere sweaters with tanks and t-shirts, it allows me to wear my sweaters multiple times before hand washing or taking to the dry cleaner. I also use this spray to keep them fresh and use this sweater stone to swipe away any pilling that may occur.
