The Co-op Reads | Four Winds By Kristin Hannah

I am so excited to announce The Co-op’s February Reads will be The Four Winds By Kristin Hannah. This is the first book I have read from the author Kristin Hannah, who has written notable works like The Nightingale and Winter Garden! Jules suggested The Four Winds, and I picked it up at target on a whim and already cannot put the book down! I hope you all enjoy The Four Winds as much I am!

Jules Thoughts On The Four Winds

The Four Winds is the newest hotly anticipated release of beloved women’s fiction author Kristin Hannah, author of the bestsellers The Nightingale and The Great Alone.  It’s one of my own top 5 anticipated releases of the new year as well, as Hannah always delivers the most emotional and immersive women’s stories, often with a historical fiction component as well.  But, don’t take my word alone — just look at the buzz surrounding The Four Winds!

In The Four Winds, Elsa has married quickly in Texas 1921, a time of abundance.  But by 1934, in the Great Plains, millions are out of work and drought has devastated the Great Plains. Elsa’s marriage is also on the brink of death as she struggles to keep her family alive.   She is forced to make a difficult choice: fight for the land she loves or leave it all behind and go west, to California, in search of a better life.

Like many of Hannah’s books, The Four Winds is a sweeping novel of strength of the human spirit.  You won’t be able to put this portrait of the American dream down.
