This homemade guacamole recipe has all components of a tasty dip; it’s fatty, salty, cold, creamy, and a little acidic from the fresh lime. It’s the best dip in my opinion! We probably make this guacamole at least twice a week in our house. I think this homemade guacamole recipe is absolutely perfect. If you’re like me, you may find some guacs too chunky or too smooth, and some have too much red onion for me. This guacamole recipe is just right. The first trick is to add a few spoonfuls of this homemade salsa (or this store-bought one will do in a pinch). The other trick is to smash it well with a fork and then fold in the salsa and spices to lightly whip the guac into the perfect texture of creamy avocado splendor! I personally love to dip carrots and other crudité with my guac over chips because I think they hold up to the texture and weight of the guac but Justin loves this brand of tortilla chips!

For optimal digestion combine avocados with other neutrals like leafy greens such as mixed greens and spinach. Dip raw veggies into avocado dips like guacamole or top roasted vegetables with the guac. Avocados also pair really well grains like quinoa, rice, and millet or starchy vegetables like sweet potatoes and yams!  Since avocados are high in fat I find them to be too heavy to pair with animal proteins like chicken or salmon!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Whole Avocados
  • 1 Juice of Lime
  • 4 Tbsp Fresh Salsa (Medium Heat)
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Cilantro
  • 2 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 Tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tsp Pepper
  • 1/2 Tsp Chili Powder

Instructions
 

  • Begin by smashing two avocados in a bowl with the back of a fork. Next add your lime juice and fresh salsa and begin whipping the avocado similarly to how you would beat an egg. This ensures a nice creamy guacamole that isn't overly lumpy. Next mix in all of your spices and finish by stirring in your chopped cilantro. This guacamole goes great with a side of veggies or chips. Enjoy!!
