Caramel Nice Cream

Salted Caramel Nice Cream

About - The Co-op

This salted caramel banana nice cream is delicious and decadent! The sweet and chewy dates lend themselves to a very similar flavor to traditional caramel, and the frozen bananas are very adaptable to any flavoring! Making salted caramel nice cream is very easy, you’ll need a few frozen bananas, pitted dates, and a pinch of salt, a touch of cinnamon is also very delicious in this recipe. Add all the ingredients to a food processor (I use this one) and blend until it becomes a beautiful creamy ice cream-like texture. Serve and enjoy immediately, or you may put the n(ice) back into the freezer and enjoy at a later time!

Practice Food Combining | Best Combines With Fruits

Whenever consuming fruits we want to eat on an empty stomach, the only thing that can proceed with fruit should be green juice. When practicing proper food combining nice cream would be best consumed as breakfast or lunch! Since this salted caramel nice cream is made entirely from frozen whipped bananas and flavored with dates, it is best consumed on an empty stomach or eaten after a green juice. Fruit takes only 40-60 mins to digest, so you want to make sure the fruit will enter and quickly leave the digestive system. When fruit hits slower to digest food like starches or proteins, it “hits” the slow to digest food, and because of its quick to digest nature, the fruit starts to ferment and cause gaseous bubbles and can cause digestive upset; like bloating, gas, etc.
